Minor surgical interventions in otorhinolaryngology
can be performed as outpatient surgery. These include
the removal of the pharyngeal tonsils (adenoids):
myringotomies / tympanostomies; tympanostomy tube
insertion to treat inflammations of the middle ear with
fluid collection (effusion), also called glue ear; minor
skin surgery as well as the collection and examination
of endoscopic biopsy specimens.
